i'm going to finish the kitchen this winter which includes new tiling (i finally bought the hand held tile cutter at the state fair. woot.), new countertops, finish painting the upper cabinets, new flooring (this is not urgent), paint ceiling, new light fixtures, new table and chairs (also not urgent) and stencil the pattern. i'm stenciling the pattern now. Its a project that requires a lot of patience, something I don't have much of. so I'm taking it a little bit at a time.
here is the first of the stencil being painted.we're also going to work on our bedroom upstairs. we've ripped out the carpet already - which has been awesome for my allergies. we found out my parents have left over hickory flooring they had made out of their trees for their house and they've given it to us for free. i'm so excited for this - the price is right, the flooring is beautiful and i'll have a little piece of the farm in my house, under my feet every day. so cool.
we took off the carpet on the stairs. they are pretty damaged so we'll probably put on new wood to match the floors.
we think these might have asbestos? they are just like the tiles in my elementary school cafeteria. awesome. we'll just lay the hickory flooring right over the top.
